Surrogate's Comments/Birth Story:
What a wonderful experience this has been-we are looking to have a sibling for Miss Presley around 2006!!

Birth story: This is the short version:
I had my hubby strip my membranes Saturday night and then we went to bed. The next morning I woke up with mild cramps, but they didnt really hurt. The only was that they were kind of consistent (every 20 minutes or so). After walking around the mall with Amy for a couple of hours they had gotten a little stronger, but still I was able to walk and talk through them. (I have never gone through a "natural" labor before; I always had pitocin) We went to the birth center at this point and the midwives checked me and found that I was 6-7cm dilated! I thought, well, I better get ready for transition. Another hour or two went by and I decided to get in the birth tub. After an hour of that they made me get out because I was making my temp go up too high (I like hot baths :) I kept walking around for another hour or so and they checked me again. This time I was at 8-9cm-and still no change in the contractions! It was soooo easy! Well after another hour or two and no change in my dilation, we decided to break my water. After that still nothing happened. I kept walking and walking (that is so boring), finally about a half hour later a bunch more fluid came with a contraction and thats when the baby dropped. Then the contractions immediatly got painful, so I got back in the tub and went through the rest of my labor there. I have no idea how long I was in there, but I dont think it was more than 10 contractions before I started pushing. I delivered Presley in the water and after a little trouble getting started, she was great. I however, wasnt, and had to be rushed to the hospital after hemorrhaging. But I was OK in the end and my only regret is not seeing baby presleys mommy hold her for the first time :( Otherwise, I loved it!! (the problem with me was that the baby had a very short cord, probably from her biological parents, and it tore my placenta as she was being born.)
