were scammed
twice. Once by a surrogate who posted on
SMO and then buy and agency who also posted on SMO and was even
recommended by
our lawyer. Words of advice, take it
slow and step by step. An easy and free
way to do a back-ground search on anyone is to "Google" their
name. We learned this after the
fact. Only pay an agency their
fees. Any fees intended for the surrogate
should go into a properly establish escrow account.
Get your lawyer's advice on this.
It is hard to believe that there
are scam artist preying
on innocent vulnerable people wanting to be parents - but believe me
they are
out there.
All that
being said, it was all worth it. We are
now the proud parents of a beautiful,
almost 9 months old, girl. She is worth
every bit of struggle we experienced.
Once we had all the pieces to the puzzle together,
with caring and
supportive people, all went well.
