Proud Parent's Comments:
This has been an amazing journey for our family.
SMO and the amazing support team of readers played a huge part in this
journey with myself and my husband. There were many nights I
would spend typing questions from egg transfers, to 2WW and the even
longer wait for our daughter and sit and watch and wait for the answers
to roll in. The people on this board are wonderful. It all
goes to show, in IVF- you so often feel as if you were alone in this
long journey of the unknown and long, long waits and many questions
that never seem to have one answer. SMO makes you realize how
small this world is and how many people out there all over this planet
share what you are feeling. SMO has been a great resource for me
and a fabulous place to get to know people that will likely be life
time friends. Thanks SMO!

Birth Story:
WOW, where to begin?! Towards the end, every day-
was the day for us. Finally on Friday, October 5th, I decided I
would go to work and get it in my head that today was not the
day. That when Ella wanted to come she would.....and I needed to
relax and stop clock watching. I planned in a busy work day,
hoping that busy would help pass time for me. Then, finally- at
1pm, I received a phone call from our GS, Lisa... She was in the
hospital and her water just broke. I called my husband and we
raced, the entire time on the cell phone to the hospital.
Suddenly, the usually clear expressway was full of traffic and everyone
seemed to be going slow....funny how that feels when you are trying to
get somewhere quickly. At 1:45, my husband and I both pulled into
the hospital parking lot minutes apart from each other and raced up
stairs to greet Lisa. Lisa's labor started around noon, she was
so awesome! Although she ordered her epedermal as soon as she
checked into the hospital, it wasn't given to her until 5pm. She
did incredibly through the pains that were quickly coming harder and
closer together. Then at some point between 5:45 and 6pm, Lisa
received her epedermal. Within minutes, the room become hectic
and there were Dr's and nurses everywhere preparing Lisa for what was a
very calm and sweet birth. Within two minutes and approximately
five pushes, Ella Loren was born. Her Daddy and I were able to
watch the entire thing and were so proud to have cut the cord
together. I can't say enough about how amazing this birth
experience and our surrogate, Lisa was and is. That night, the
four of us spent the night Lisa's hospital room. Another act of
pure unselfishness on Lisa's part. I have had an amazing seven
years with my husband and I can honestly say, that our life has once
again, just begun.
