Birth Story:

Labor started in the evening of the 26th.  The plan was to stay at home as long as possible. At about 3:00 am I woke up and was too uncomfortable to get back to sleep.  Contractions had become stronger and were coming about every 7 min.  Since I have a history of fast births, we decided going to the hospital would be a good idea.  I contacted my midwife and the parents and my doula/mom and we all met at the hospital.  When I checked in at 5:00 am I was already 7 cm.  The midwife broke my water, and I spent the next hour on the birth ball and in the bathroom.  By 6:30 contractions had gotten stronger.  I spent the next hour standing and rocking I was offered pain meds but had no intention of using them.  By the time the midwife checked me again it was 7:10 I was at 9cm.  Almost ready to go another 10 min and I was told to go ahead and push.  I really didn't do too much, the baby just took over and started coming on his own.  I pushed about three times and the head was born.  One more push and the rest of the beautiful boy was born.  The baby came out mad and had lots of hair.  His father was in the room and was able to cut the cord.  My mission was through and now the rest would be left to the proud parents.
