Surrogate's comments:
|
What a rewarding experience! My entire family looked at me as if I had
gone off the deep end when I told them that I was planning on being a surrogate.
Now they see what joy my husband, (thank goodness he is so supportive and
held my hand the entire way, it was surely duel effort) and I helped to bring
to another couple, and are so proud!
The pregnancy had it's ups and downs. A few more complications then my own.
It ended when my regular US showed a baby less then 4lbs at 36 weeks, and
breech none the less. A C-section was scheduled the following morning, as
they suspected a weak placenta. Well, little Alexander came into the world
screaming his head off and weighing in at a whopping 5lbs 4oz (on target
for 7 1/2lbs full term). So much for modern technology ;-) We'd rather be
safe then sorry anyday. Looking at his parents, as they sweetly caressed
their new child was worth all the tests, shots (the many, many shots)
transfers(2), pregnancy and even the pain from a C-section more then worth
it!
Thank God for little miracles and for giving modern science the capability
to assist parents in ways which were once impossible!
